An avid interest in sports helped Lance Markbreiter decide to become an orthopaedic specialist. "Because I compete in competitive sports, I'm familiar with the frustration that an injury can cause," says Dr. Markbreiter. "To me, there's nothing more rewarding than being able to help someone - young or old - regain their mobility after an illness or injury." Dr. Markbreiter attended Yale medical school and trained in orthopaedics at the prestigious Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. He completed his Fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery He then completed an intensive, year-long fellowship to gain special expertise for treating disorders of the foot and ankle including: fractures, bunions, hammertoes, diabetic feet and neuromas.
